New Tax on Cigarettes Could Cause Pocketbook Pain

A new Ohio cigarette tax will go into effect July 1st which means smokers will be digging deeper to take a puff.
But Sharrar believes the tax is a sin tax and lawmakers are targeting smokers because they believe smoking is not right. I do something that's not the best for my health so why should I pay more, Sharrar said.
Prices go up July 1st. Some cigarettes smokers say the increase couldn't come at a worse time paying the price at the gas pump, and soon the same expensive pain every time they puff.
