Gauloises Blondes cigarettes are produced in France, king size (85 mm) or long (100 mm), soft or hard pack, 10, 19, 20, 25 or 30 cigarettes in a pack. When the brand first appeared it was made from dark tobacco, but in 1984 the brand was relaunched to an American type blend of light tobacco and renamed Gauloises Blondes. Today Gauloise Cigarettes remain a popular brand worldwide, as many smokers recognize their strong, pleasant taste and high-quality tobacco smoke.

Gauloises cigarette increases market share in Germany

The German cigarette market is expanding only gradually, according to figures released by British-American Tobacco (Germany) GmbH on Thursday. In 1999, 173 billion cigarettes were smoked in Germany, an increase of just 1% on 1998. The market volume at the end of the 1990s thus corresponds roughly to that from the beginning if the decade. Sales in Germany of factory-finished cigarettes rose to 141.2 billion, a total increase of 1.9% in 1999.
Partly due to a mild price hike in high-branded cigarettes in October, sales of low-price cigarettes increased by 19% to 10.6 billion. With a market share of 7.5%, they now occupy third place in the factory-finished cigarettes market behind Gauloises cigarettes.
